The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) declared that it’s begun accepting scholarship applications for its 2017 Gemology and jewellery producing Arts programs, courses and work classes.
GIA scholarships total $2 million for 2017 and further the institute’s expressed aim of providing quality education in gemology and jewellery to the trade and aspiring professionals. Applications for the present scholarship cycle are accessible through September 30.
GIA has awarded over $5.5 million in scholarships, funded by the institute’s endowment fund and several other non-public donors, to over 1,500 students.
Scholarships are offered for distance education eLearning courses and for classes at the institute’s campuses in Bangkok, Carlsbad, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New York city and Taiwan; and at GIA branches in Republic of Botswana and Dubai (UAE).
